So, I just realized it's well over a year since I wanted to keep this going. You know you get busy, life catches up to you... and wham, you're a mom and dad. So yup, thats what has happened since this last post. We became parents. Ashton came into our lives last Christmas and the adventure has been ongoing since. The adventure has been everything and more we have wanted it to be.

And we just got orders to move back to the midwest! Offutt AFB here we come! Having Ashton grow up around family will be great. Although I never envisioned moving back to Omaha, I do believe this is the best for the Demers household. Here is an updated picture of the 3 of us!

whoo hooo, one more week of dc traffic! the only thing motivating me into moving. dani and i are going downtown to the cherry blossom festival this weekend. it is so beautiful downtown during this time of year. i will post pictures of it next time. we are also hanging out with an old friend of mine from omaha who is out here now, its great to have friends out here now.

had a really scary after encounter today, actually just an hour ago. today, i had to take the metro to the pentagon, because there is no parking there and i am not about to pay 20 bucks for a days worth of parking. not even, 3 hours after i got off the metro, the same line i was riding derailed. scary let me tell ya, to think that i could have been on that had one of the meetings ran late this morning.

on a happier note, i love the new mcdonalds commercial with the talking fish. i enjoy singing it around the house while husker looks at me like he is going to get something good. if you haven't seen it, click here, it's stupid at first, but catchy after a while! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD64OhbG4ps

Moving.... blah...

Dani and I are moving here soon....blah.... Packing is not fun at all. This will be my 10th time moving in less than 6 years. But what keeps us motivated is that our rent is $250 less, yes, I didn't studder. It sounds like I am refinancing my car or something. But I will not deal with the DC commute either.. Yea! So I am not writing this place off just yet... for hopes that things will be better once we move a hop, skip and jump away from work! Also, the mountains are only a 25 minute drive away, not the rocky's but better than nuth'in right eh? Happy O' Saint Pattys Day!

hiking in Great Falls

dani and i decided to take on a new adventure that is popular to so many our here on the east coast. so i took dani to dicks sporting goods on friday night and she thought we were purchasing bikes. although, i really want to purchase bikes, i was set on discovering the joys of hiking and the beautiful scenery that maryland and virgina have to offer. we purchased our hiking shoes which i had no idea would be as pricey as they were and our breathable socks to prevent blisters, along with a first aid kit. luckily i had a camel back so that we wouldn't have to carry around a water bottle. saturday morning we started out at great falls, va. this park is amazing as you can see from the pictures, but just the mere experience of spending a day with dani and starting something we both never had done before was simply gratifying in it's self. the beauty that came along with it was just a bonus. now, dani and i are set to continue our new found joy of hiking to other parts of the area. i would like to get to the blue ridge mountains before we leave here in 2011.

Brushing Huskers Teeth

I am trying to get more into the habit of brushing Huskers teeth. I have to bribe him with a dental treat first before I can get him to surrender to lay down. Good thing he doesn't know those are good for him too!

Poor Car

This week Dani was in a car accident on my Birthday. Don't worry she is alright, but the car probably will not make it. A guy not paying attention on the beltway, rear-ended her and caved in the back end of the car. Sad thing is that we just bought that car less than a year ago... Hopefully she can be revived!
